Lanner FW-7535: Network Appliance with Intel Atom and 6 LAN Ports

Lanner Inc. released the FW-7535, a desktop network application platform powered by the dual core Intel Atom Pineview D510. The platform features 6 gigabit LAN ports in a small, fanless chassis. Designed for secure network communication applications, the FW-7535 can be deployed in a tradition office environment or an industrial setting such as a secure SCADA system.

The FW-7535 features the new dual core Intel Atom D510 for 1.66GHz of processing power, while maintaining a low heat threshold. Due to the low wattage processor, the FW-7535 is one of Lanner’s few networking appliances that feature a fanless chassis. The system utilizes two passive heat sinks and features an aluminum case with heat dispersing fins.

The Intel 82574L and Intel 82583V network controllers provide high network bandwidth for the 6 gigabit ports. One pair of network ports can be enabled to support abnormal state bypass. Along with the 6 network ports, the FW-7535 also has 2 USB 2.0 ports and a RJ-45 console port. The system has an internal Watchdog and Real Time Clock, powered by a Lithium battery.

The FW-7535 can hold up to 4GB of memory off one 200pin SODIMM slot, and is capable of holding one 2.5 inch hard drive and a CF card. Including the hard drive and RAM, this system ought to weigh 1.5 kg measuring 19,0 x 3,6 x 14,5 cm. It supports Windows (2000, 2003 & XP) and Linux (2.4 and higher) operating systems.

Along with other Lanner products this is classified as a green friendly appliance by adhering to the strict RoHS guidelines. Lanner’s range of dual core Intel Atom appliances – including this one – will be displayed in the Lanner booth (M929-M934, Nangang Exhibition Hall) at Computex 2010 in Taipei.
