Inflation rate in Eurozone at 3.2 percent

According to the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), in the Eurozone (EZ15) the pace of inflation is slowing down. Thus, in October 2008 prices in the EZ15 rose by 3.2% as compared to October 2007, according to preliminary data. Final results will be known by the middle of November. In September the annual inflation rate had been 3.6%.

Eurostat calculate the preliminary consumer price index for the Eurozone (VPI-EWU) on the basis of price data early available from some member states as well as on information on energy prices. GERMAN
