Strategies against the failure of major IT projects

About 20% of all IT projects have to be stopped, half of them last longer or become more expensive than originally planned. Consequences are a damaged image and unnecessary costs. Frequently the main reason for such problems is insufficient risk management. Furthermore, the longer a project lasts and the more complex it is, the higher is the probability of failure. These are some findings of a study by the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

This study analyses the reasons for such IT problems and describes strategies the use of which helps to bring IT projects to a successful end. The experience of many years of this study´s authors with IT projects makes this brochure a useful tool for anybody to whom it may concern.

The complete study comprises 32 pages and is available in German language for free-of-charge download. GERMAN
