Credibility of managers comes first

While in the recent past some German top managers contributed a lot to compromising their credibility among the general public, it is this very characteristic which is most important in assessing the professional group of managers. A survey revealed that many top managers believe that credibility, optimism and responsibility are indispensable for doing business successfully.

The Deloitte consulting firm interviewed about 700 participants at this year´s “Day of the German Industry” in Berlin about their personal ethic priorities. The findings are astonishing. For 29% credibility is the most important virtue followed by optimism (26%) and responsibility (25%). Traditionally invoked entrepreneurial virtues such as the will to succeed and determination are mentioned by 16% and 12% of respondents respectively which places these characteristics in positions six and nine respectively in the above ranking.
