Database containing information on vocational training and further education modernized

The “Kursnet” database by the Federal Employment Agency has been developped into a comprehensive and useful portal for information on professional training and further education. Among the new features are the target group-oriented categories “citizens”, and “businesses” and “institutions”. Thus, it is possible for those seeking training and education, companies and those providing training and education to inform themselves on relevant subjects.

Klicking on the “businesses” category, for example, users will be faced with typical questions such as “Which kind of further training fits the need of my employee?” and quickly find suitable training offers. Personnel managers already acquainted with the queries of the previous data base version can still use the extented expert search function.

One of the new features of this portal is a newsletter for those providing training and education. Those may receive information on six different categories which will keep them updated on interesting topics concerning professional training and further education. Subscription to this newsletter is free-of-charge.

“Kursnet” contains more than 400.000 training offers by 14.000 training and education providers and is, according to the Federal Employment Agency, the biggest database of its kind in Germany. According to the Agency, each month more than half a million people access six million pages of the database. Even the Stiftung Warentest quality certification agency was impressed by this database and assessed it to be “good”. GERMAN
