Issues of CeBIT 2008 highly interesting to SMEs

This year’s CeBIT high-tech exposition will open its doors on March 4th. This year there will be more than 5800 exhibitors from 77 countries. This fair is an important indicator to businesses as to which technologies will be leading in the near future. According to the German Association of Information Management, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM), this year the focus will be on green IT, internet telephony and mobile data services.

Of particular interest to small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) is hall 5. There on more than 3000 square meters special services tailored to the needs of SMEs will be offered. Under the motto „Treffpunkt Mittelstand“ each day a new topic such as e-commerce or IT security will be concentrated upon. At the same time there will be panel discussions in hall 5, stand B48.

To businesses in the field of mobile telecommunication and consumer electronics the „Planet Reseller“in hall 25 (stand D40) will be an important contact point. Here more than 150 exhibitors (manufacturers, distributors etc.) will display their exhibits on more than 10.000 square meters to merchants. This area is reserved to experts and representatives of the media.

In particular France, the partner country of this year’s CeBIT, will offer plenty of interesting information and opportunities to internationally operating companies in order to find partners. The highlight will be the German-French ITC summit on March 4th at 11 o’clock. Access to the dynamic French market will also be the focal point of subsequent expert forums.

Also on March 4th a German-Ukrainian IT forum hosted by BITKOM will provide information on business opportunities in Eastern Europe. Detailed information on France and on the Ukraine is available on the internet.

This year the CeBIT will last from March 4th until March 9th. GERMAN
