Fed lowers key interest rate to 4.25 percent

Yesterday the Council of the US Federal Reserve lowered the key interest rate by 0.25 percent to 4.25% which is the third reduction in a row after more than one year of unchanged rates. Investors had hoped for a stronger reduction so that the Fed´s decision had a negative effect on the stock exchanges. The majority of economists, however, had anticipated such a decision. GERMAN
