European conference on innovation and clusters

On December 11th 2007 the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum in co-operation with the ministry of economics in Baden-Wurttemberg will host an international conference dealing with the issues of innovation and clusters. The objective of the conference is to bring together regional and European decision makers from the fields of innovation and technology transfer.

The conference serves as a platform in order to exchange views on approaches with regard to innovation and cluster management presenting successful examples. At the same time it focuses on the innovation capacity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized entities.

Here the principal topics of the conference:

• opportunities provided by the international networking of clusters
• strategic and political instruments in order to shape and further develop cluster networks
• the importance of European technology platforms and of the technology initiatives by the European Commission

In the course of the conference international experts will present successful regional and European cluster networks

Conference venue is the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle at the Berlinerplatz in Stuttgart. Conference languages are German and English. Participation is for free.
