Germany more and more attractive for tourist industry

Last year the tourism industry celebrated a new record registering 351.4 million overnight stays. Most overnight stays (298.3 million) are accounted for by German tourists, while foreign tourists book about 15% of them. The top ten of the destinations are Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Leipzig. This is the finding of the »Nix wie hin« study carried out by the Deloitte accountancy firm.

The high interest in city tours combined with a promising situation of the German economy provides enough reason for the German Hotel Association to be optimistic about the future at the same time expecting that the number of hotel rooms booked may increase by another two percent with room prices slightly rising.
