With 104.000 square meters of exhibition space and a record participation of 1212 exhibitors from 32 countries the IFA, which is the world´s largest consumer electronics trade show, will open its doors from August 31st to September 5th at the foot of the Berlin radio tower. According to the organizers, the trade fair, which this year for the second time take place once a year is set to continue its success story.
Organizers say that the IFA not only becomes increasingly important to German and European exhibitors, but also to those from Asia and North America. »This year there will be 60 percent foreign exhibitors at the fair which means that the goal set, i.e. more exhibitors from abroad, will be reached«, says Dr. Rainer Hecker, managing director of the Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik (gfu), the fair´s organizer.
The Messe Berlin and gfu are optimistic to surpass last year´s number of visitors. Over the coming days there will be 70 shows and concerts taking place at the fair and more than 200 celebrities and stars are expected to attend as well.
