Franchise ranking provides orientation to business founders

The Impulse economic magazine in yesterday´s edition published a ranking of the 100 best franchise systems in Germany. McDonalds is on top of this ranking having scored 90 out of a maximum of 120 points. Second place went to pet food trader Fressnapf getting 88.5 points followed by the second Hamburger fast food chain Burger King with 85.5 points. These three franchise systems provide true success guarantees to young entrepreneurs as was shown by a comprehensive analysis carried out by the Impulse magazine in co-operation with franchise experts Felix Packert, Reinhard Wingral and Prof. Heinz Klandt from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel.

There are three other caterers among the top 10 franchise systems: Joey’s Pizza with 81.5 points in the fourth place, the sandwich specialist Subway with 79.5 points who came seventh and Hallo Pizza with 79 points who was ranked eighth. Furthermore, the Impulse ranking put Obi in fifth place (80.5 points), massive house builder Town & Country Houses came sixth (79.75 pointse), private lesson provider Studienkreis came ninth (78.75 points) and Mobilcom in the tenth place (75.75 Punkte). The best newcomers are Deutsche Bahn ServiceStore in 15th place and promotional gift manufacturer Im-Press Promotion who was ranked 29th.

The ranking is based on detailed interviews with franchisors and a following analysis and evaluation. According to the Impulse magazine it is so far the most comprehensive analysis of the franchise market. The complete ranking is published in the 7/2006 Impulse print edition. GERMAN
